I believe in the brotherhood of man, all men, but I don't believe in brotherhood with anybody who doesn't want brotherhood with me. I believe in treating people right, but I'm not going to waste my time trying to treat somebody right who doesn't know how to return the treatment. - Malcolm X

Name: Edgar David Sutton
Age: 38
Powers: none
Character Picture:

PB: James Purefoy
Occupation: New York County Assistant DA
Brief History:
Edgar Sutton’s future was mapped out for him almost from the day he was born. His father, David Sutton, was a high profile corporate attorney who worked in the legal department of an equally high profile computer programming company. His mother was the daughter of a British barrister who was a member of the Queen’s Council. Abigail, his mother, was studying abroad in America when she met David. They had a whirlwind romance culminating in an elopement the day before she was meant to go back to England.
Edgar arrived into this world roughly eleven months after his parents exchanged their vows. He was named after his maternal grandfather and his father. He was sent to the best schools and received excellent marks. He graduated valedictorian of his high school, and went on to study law at Harvard University.
He excelled in his studies, and graduated second in his class. He quickly found work as a prosecutor in Boston. Later he found out that the student who had beat him out for first in his class had been a telepath who had used his abilities to get ahead. And with that, Edgar Sutton’s dislike of mutants began.
It only grew as his career progressed. More and more cases seemed to center on mutants who attacked humans, mutant terrorists, and dangerous mutants who lost control of their powers. It became clear to him that mutants were a menace, and that everyone would be better off once the mutant problem was solved. He took on cases that reflected this belief, and many mutants found themselves sent to hospitals or other facilities because of Edgar Sutton.
Even the Manhattan District Attorney, extremely anti-mutant himself, began taking notice of one Edgar Sutton. When Edgar was thirty-three, he was offered an ADA position in New York County with the implication that when the current DA retired in a decade or so, he would be a top choice to take his place. So Edgar packed up and moved to New York.
He’d been there about a month, and was prosecuting his second case in the city when he met his soon-to-be wife. Haley was doing a story on his case, and more than once their eyes met across the courtroom. Sparks flew, and after the case was wrapped up the paper left a message with his secretary asking him to call. Plans were made for he and Haley to get together for lunch, supposedly to get some background information on him in case the paper wanted to run another story on one of his cases in the future. But lunch turned into dinner, dinner became dating, and within only a couple months Edgar and Haley were married. The story the paper ran turned out to be a wedding announcement.
The first few years of their marriage were passionate and loving. Despite them both being workaholics in their own ways, the couple spent every free moment together. In recent years, however, their marriage became more comfortable and less passionate. Eventually it became simply convenient, until now they are more strangers who live together than anything like the couple they were in the beginning.
Affiliations: Anti-mutant
Relations: Husband of Haley Sutton.
Desired plot(s): Perhaps a dirty mistress? xD It would explain in part why his marriage has grown so cold.
